We are delighted to invite you to the transformative 6-day/5-night QigongDharma residential retreat taught by Roshi Teja Fudo Myoo. The retreat will take place at the beautiful, spacious Applegate Retreat Center in Northern California, just an hour’s drive from Sacramento International Airport.

The natural beauty and tranquil setting of the Applegate Retreat Center serve as the perfect canvas for deep internal exploration and restorative practice.

Retreat Structure: Our daily schedule is thoughtfully designed to strike a harmonious balance between immersive study and practice and restorative rest, ensuring you can deepen your connection with your internal landscape and the reality of your life.  This retreat includes 4 daily in-depth practice/teaching sessions with Teja. There will also be 3 optional 24-minute silent sits with practice leaders throughout each day. The daily schedule is spacious, allowing for periods of rest and appreciation of nature.

Retreat Theme: The Five Mandalas of Wholeness create a Compass for Living in Balance, Compassion, and Kindness.  The integrative practices include Standing & Seated Qigong, Daoyin, Neigong, and Meditation.

Retreat participants will find pathways to profound inner freedom, clarity, and stability through practices aligned with the Five Mandalas.

This expanded framework can serve as a spiritual guide and a daily touchstone, embodying a liberation practice that responds with grace and resilience to the rhythm of life’s changing circumstances.

The connection between QigongDharma practice and the Five Mandalas of Wholeness is profound, as each mandala resonates deeply with QigongDharma’s principles and methodologies. At this retreat, participants can experience how specific practices cultivate these qualities individually and integrate them into experiences of inner freedom and resilience.

The Five Mandalas of Wholeness offer a simple and profound map for living with clarity, balance, and compassion. They reveal five natural capacities of the awakened heart—spacious awareness, clear reflection, deep equality, loving discernment, and effortless action. Through QigongDharma’s embodied practices of breath, movement, and mindful presence, these mandalas become living experiences rather than abstract ideas. They help us return to our center in times of change, and guide us toward wise, compassionate engagement with the world. Together, they illuminate a path of wholeness for the benefit of all beings.

The Purpose of this Retreat:

  • Integrate Qigong, Daoyin, Neigong, Dharma and Meditation:
  • Standing and Seated Qigong: Practices to align breath, body, and energy, cultivating resilience and vitality.
  • Daoyin: Mindful movements guide energy flow, enhance flexibility, and encourage self-healing.
  • Neigong: Inner cultivation methods for accessing deeper energetic layers, fostering stability and clarity.
  • Dharma and Meditation: Having the teachings is important; having the time to sit in True Nature is Essential!

The Five Mandalas of Wholeness

are living expressions of the awakened heart—five ways of seeing and being that guide us toward balance, compassion, and wise action in daily life. Rooted in ancient wisdom and brought to life through QigongDharma’s embodied practice, these mandalas help us return to our natural clarity and ease, especially in times of change.

• The Mandala of Suchness – Spacious Awareness
The foundational mandala, inviting us to rest in the open field of awareness—the vast, sky-like presence within which all experiences arise and dissolve.

• The Mandala of Mirror-like Wisdom – Clear Reflection
The clarity that reflects each moment without distortion or grasping. This mandala supports equanimity, stillness, and the ability to see things as they truly are.

• The Mandala of Equality – Dignity and Inclusion
The recognition that all beings and all experiences share the same fundamental nature. It teaches balance, compassion, and the deep dignity of every breath and moment.

• The Mandala of Discriminating Wisdom – Loving Discernment
The capacity to see uniqueness clearly and respond with precision and care. This mandala transforms judgment into insight and supports skillful, compassionate action.

• The Mandala of All-Accomplishing Wisdom – Effortless Action
Wisdom naturally expressed as effective, compassionate activity. This mandala embodies Wú Wéi—action arising from clarity, integration, and the awakened heart.

Together, these Five Mandalas form an integrated map of wholeness, guiding practitioners toward a life that is grounded, open, and responsive. Through breath, movement, meditation, and mindful presence, we learn not only to understand these mandalas—but to embody them for the benefit of all beings.
